In India, the Fiat Chrysler Automobile (FCA) announced today that the BS6 4×4 diesel automatic Jeep Compass 2020 will be launched. Both models come with a 4×4 system and are price 21,96 lakh, and € 24,99 lakh (ex-showroom, India) respective in two versions–Longitud AT or Limited Plus AT. Two different types are available. The 4×4 diesel-based variant of the Compass was also produced, which was previously only supplied with the Compass Trailhawk. In fact, the SUV is equipped with the same MultiJet II 2.0-liter BS6 engine that the Trailhawk introduced last year.
The BS6 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine, which has a peak torque of around 170 bhp and 350 Nm, is again matched to the Compass Trailhawk for 9-speed automatic transmission. FCA says the engine is optimized for stop-and-go traffic and increased fuel efficiency, with both 4×4 variants also being provided with Cruise Control as standard.
Commenting on Jeep Compass’s introduction of the automatic diesel version of the Jeep Compass 4×4, Partha Datta, Chief Executive Officer, FCA India said, “We are improving and extending the selection of Jeep Compass by launching our autonomous diesel models, which are made available to consumers directly from the base and high-end variants.
The front includes a 7-inch UConnect panel with a dynamically customizable reverse monitor, dual region air conditioners and two-tone interiors, passive vehicle entry, and a push-button start app. Besides the safety features-EBD ABS, traction-controlled electronic stability control and hill start assistance, disk braking on all four wheels, automatic parking brake and damped-in-flow suspension frequency-the SUV also sports the same 17-inch alloy wheels. On the other side, the top-spec Limited Plus 4×4 AT comes with an 8.4-inch wider Uconnect infotainment panoramic sun/moon windshield, plump leather interiors and a driver’s eight-way adjustable cab, auto-head lanterns, a rain-sensitive wiper mechanism, auto-static IRVM, and six airbags.
