Tata Motors is set to enhance its Nexon SUV lineup with the introduction of the Nexon diesel DCA, a new variant that promises to elevate the driving experience with improved features and options.
Engine and Transmission Details:
The Tata Nexon diesel range currently includes the 1.5-litre Revotorq engine, which generates 115 horsepower. This engine can be paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). However, the new Nexon diesel DCA will be upgraded with the more powerful 1.5-litre Kryotec engine, producing 118 horsepower. This engine, which made its debut on the Tata Curvv, is expected to deliver enhanced performance for the Nexon.
A key highlight of the Nexon diesel DCA is its 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCA) gearbox. This advanced transmission system offers smoother and quicker gear changes compared to the traditional AMT, contributing to a more refined and enjoyable driving experience.
Additional Features:
There are also speculations that Tata Motors may equip the new diesel DCA variant with a panoramic sunroof, based on a spy shot that surfaced online a few months ago. This potential addition could provide an extra touch of luxury to the Nexon.
Trim Levels and Availability:
It is anticipated that the diesel-DCA variant will be available at least in the Nexon Fearless trim, which typically offers a higher level of equipment and features compared to other trims.
With the introduction of the Nexon diesel DCA, the Nexon diesel lineup will offer two engine options: the existing 115hp Revotorq and the new 118hp Kryotec. Additionally, the lineup will feature up to four gearbox choices, including two manual transmissions and two automatic options, providing a range of choices to suit different driving preferences.
