Suzuki Motorcycle India has officially launched the highly anticipated Suzuki GSX-8R in the Indian market, priced at ₹9.25 lakh (ex-showroom). This new middleweight supersport bike was first showcased at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo and is now available for Indian bike enthusiasts. The Suzuki GSX-8R shares its engine with the V-Strom 800 DE, delivering strong performance while remaining rider-friendly and practical for everyday use.

Powerful Engine and Performance

The Suzuki GSX-8R is powered by a 776 cc parallel-twin engine, the same motor found in the V-Strom 800 DE and the GSX-8S (already on sale in global markets). This engine produces 81 hp at 8,500 rpm and 78 Nm of torque at 6,800 rpm. The bike’s 270-degree crank configuration and Suzuki’s patented cross-balancer shaft provide smooth and balanced power delivery. Paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a bi-directional quick-shifter, the GSX-8R offers a thrilling and seamless riding experience. The bike weighs 205 kg and comes with a 14-liter fuel tank, ensuring it’s well-suited for both city rides and longer journeys.

Sharp Design and Cycle Parts

The design of the Suzuki GSX-8R is sleek and aggressive, featuring vertically stacked LED headlights, sharp fairing, and prominent air intakes at the front. The bike’s exposed engine and elevated rear section with visible seat rails give it a modern and proportionate look. The Suzuki GSX-8R is fitted with 17-inch cast aluminum wheels wrapped in Dunlop Roadsport 2 radial tires, ensuring excellent grip and stability on the road. The front suspension consists of a Showa separate function big-piston USD fork, while the rear uses a link-type monoshock, both offering precise handling and comfort.

In terms of braking power, the Suzuki GSX-8R is equipped with twin 310 mm discs and 4-piston calipers at the front, paired with a 240 mm rear disc and a single-piston caliper. The bike also comes with a lightweight aluminum swingarm and a forged aluminum handlebar, contributing to its robust yet nimble performance.

Advanced Features and Technology

The Suzuki GSX-8R is packed with advanced technology, including Suzuki’s Intelligent Ride System. This system offers three riding modes, a 4-step switchable traction control, ride-by-wire, and ABS, ensuring a safe and customizable riding experience. Additionally, the bike is equipped with low-rpm assist and a 5-inch color TFT-LCD console, providing riders with all the essential information in a clear and stylish format.

Color Options and Competitors

The Suzuki GSX-8R is available in three striking colors: metallic matte sword silver, metallic triton blue, and metallic black no. 2. It competes with other popular middleweight supersport bikes like the Triumph Daytona 660, Kawasaki Ninja 660, and Aprilia RS 660.

With its combination of cutting-edge technology, sharp design, and rider-friendly performance, the Suzuki GSX-8R is poised to make a mark in the Indian bike market. Whether you’re looking for a road bike for everyday commuting or a powerful machine for weekend rides, the Suzuki GSX-8R promises an exciting riding experience.
