Mercedes-Benz is all set to introduce the new E-Class Long Wheelbase (LWB) model in India. Scheduled for launch on October 9, 2024, this luxury sedan promises to elevate the brand’s presence in the premium car segment. Deliveries are expected to start by Diwali, making it a timely addition to the festive season.
New Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB: Key Features and Upgrades
The 2024 E-Class LWB, codenamed V214, brings several enhancements over its predecessor, the V213. This model boasts an increased length of 14 mm, a height boost of 13 mm, and an extended wheelbase by 15 mm. The exterior design includes:
- Avantgarde Grille: A new star-pattern grille adds to its distinctive look.
- LED Headlights: High-performance LED headlights provide enhanced visibility.
- 18-inch alloy wheels: Stylish and robust, these wheels complement the sedan’s luxury feel.

- Entertainment and Ambiance: Enjoy a 17-speaker Burmester 4D Surround Sound system with Dolby Atmos, rear dual-zone AC, and 64-color ambient lighting. There are three upholstery options available.

- Super Screen: Features a fully digital driver’s display, a 14.4-inch central display, and a 12.3-inch passenger display.
- MBUX System: The third generation of MBUX integrates advanced UI/UX, digital AC vents, an air purification package, and a selfie and video camera.
Performance and Power
Under the hood, the 2024 E-Class LWB offers two engine options:
- 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine: delivers 204 horsepower.
- 2.0-liter turbo-diesel engine: Provides 197 horsepower.
Both engines are complemented by a 48V mild-hybrid system, adding 23 horsepower and 205 Nm of torque. The engines are paired with a 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, ensuring a smooth driving experience.
Pricing and Competitors
The new E-Class LWB is expected to be priced around ₹82 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with rivals such as the BMW 5 Series LWB and the Audi A6. The current generation of the E-Class has been on the market since 2017, with a mid-life facelift introduced in 2021.
