Citroen India has officially started the delivery of its much-anticipated Basalt Coupe SUV, which was recently launched at an introductory price of ₹7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This special pricing is available for all bookings with deliveries scheduled until October 31, 2024. Alongside the launch, Citroen is rapidly expanding its presence in India, marking a significant step in its growth strategy.
Citroen Basalt SUV: Pricing and Variants
The Citroen Basalt SUV, which debuted in August, is available in two engine options: the 1.2-liter Gen 3 PURETECH 110 turbo and the PURETECH 82 naturally aspirated engine. Transmission choices include a 6-speed torque converter automatic and both 5-speed and 6-speed manual transmissions.
The naturally aspirated variant is priced between₹7.99 lakh and₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) across two trims. The turbo variant comes in four trims, ranging from ₹11.49 lakh to ₹13.62 lakh (ex-showroom). A dual-tone color option is also available for an additional ₹21,000.
Network expansion and future plans
Citroen has announced the opening of 15 new showrooms and seven workshops across India as part of its ongoing expansion efforts. The company plans to add 12 new showrooms and eight more workshops over the next two months. Citroen aims to reach 200 sales and service touchpoints by the end of the year, reinforcing its commitment to the Indian automotive market.
