Kia India Reports 17% Sales Growth in August 2024: Sonet Leads the Charge

Kia India continues to make significant strides in the Indian automotive market, closing August 2024 with impressive sales figures. The company registered 17.19% year-on-Year growth, selling 22,523 units compared to 19,219 units in August of the previous year. This notable increase reflects Kia’s growing popularity among Indian customers, especially with the new Sonet emerging as the top performer.

The Kia Sonet has been a major contributor to this success, with 10,073 units sold in August 2024 alone. Following closely is the Kia Seltos, which accounted for 6,536 units. The Kia Carens also showed strong performance, with 5,881 units sold, while the EV6, Kia’s electric vehicle, recorded sales of 33 units. These numbers underscore Kia’s ability to cater to a wide range of customer preferences, from compact SUVs to family vehicles and luxury electric cars.

On the export front, Kia’s commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative continues to bear fruit, with 2,604 units exported in August 2024. This further solidifies Kia’s position as a key player in both the domestic and global auto markets.

Commenting on the company’s performance, Mr. Hardeep Singh Brar, Senior Vice President and National Head of Sales & Marketing at Kia India, stated, “Our sustained strong sales performance highlights the trust our customers have in the Kia brand. This achievement is a result of our strategic focus on delivering vehicles that are not only value for money but also meet the evolving needs and aspirations of our customers. We remain committed to expanding our presence across the country.”

Looking ahead, Kia India has exciting plans with the upcoming launches of its global models, the World Car of the Year EV9 and the new Carnival, in the Indian market. The brand recently celebrated a significant milestone of achieving 1-million-unit sales within just 59 months of its operations in India. Kia India continues to set new benchmarks in safety, design, and innovation, reinforcing its position as a leader in the auto industry.
