Tata Curvv Petrol and Diesel Launched in India: Prices, Features, and Engine Options Revealed

Tata Curvv Petrol and Diesel Launch in India

Tata Motors has unveiled the Tata Curvv with petrol and diesel engines in India, expanding its Curvv lineup. The new Tata Curvv ICE (internal combustion engine) starts at ₹9.99 lakh for the petrol variant and ₹11.49 lakh for the diesel variant. These introductory prices are expected to increase after November 2024. The Curvv ICE follows the recent launch of the Curvv.EV, which is priced at ₹17.49 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).

Tata Curvv Design and Features

The Tata Curvv ICE maintains the coupe SUV design, similar to the Curvv EV, with minor differences like a revised front grille and air vents. This design positions the Curvv ICE alongside the Citroen Basalt in this unique segment.

Inside, the Tata Curvv offers a premium cabin with a 4-spoke steering wheel borrowed from the Tata Harrier. The interior features ambient lighting along the dashboard, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 9-speaker JBL audio system, a panoramic sunroof, auto climate control, an air purifier, and ventilated front seats. Safety is a priority, with six airbags standard across all trims, while higher trims also include ADAS features, an electronic parking brake, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

Tata Curvv Engine Options

The Tata Curvv ICE comes with three engine options: two turbo-petrol engines and one diesel engine. The 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine produces 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque, while the 1.2-liter T-GDI turbo petrol engine generates 123 bhp and 225 Nm of torque. The 1.5-liter diesel engine offers 113 bhp and 260 Nm of peak torque. All engines are paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, making the Curvv ICE the first diesel SUV in its segment to offer a dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Tata Curvv Rivals and Market Position

The Tata Curvv ICE will compete with other prominent SUVs such as the Citroen Basalt, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota Hyryder, and Volkswagen Taigun.

Summary

With its competitive pricing, modern features, and robust engine options, the Tata Curvv ICE is set to make a significant impact in the Indian auto market. As Tata Motors continues to innovate in the SUV segment, the Curvv ICE stands out as a strong contender in the realm of new cars and luxury SUVs.
