Kia India is gearing up for an exciting double launch this festive season. Mark your calendars for October 3, 2024, as the Korean automaker introduces the current-gen Kia Carnival MPV and the much-anticipated Kia EV9 electric SUV in India.
Kia Carnival: A New-Generation MPV
The new-gen Kia Carnival is set to make a grand re-entry into the Indian market. Initially arriving as a Completely Built-Up Unit (CBU), the Carnival is expected to be locally assembled in the future. The redesigned Carnival will feature an array of advanced features, including dual 12.3-inch screens, 360-degree cameras, a head-up display, ventilated seats, and climate control.
Globally, the Carnival offers multiple seating configurations, including 7, 9, and 11-seater layouts. In India, the new-gen Carnival is anticipated to come with various engine and gearbox options. The price is expected to range between ₹45 lakh and ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom), reflecting its premium positioning.
Kia EV9: The Brand’s Flagship Electric SUV
Kia’s flagship electric SUV, the EV9, will be making its debut in India alongside the Carnival. Built on the E-GMP skateboard platform, the Kia EV9 is a full-size SUV that stands out with its impressive dimensions—over 5,000 mm in length and a 3,100 mm wheelbase. This makes it one of the largest SUVs in Kia’s global lineup.
The EV9 will offer multiple battery options, with the larger battery providing a range of over 500 km. This premium SUV will be fully imported, and its price is expected to be around ₹1 crore. The Kia EV9 promises a bold design, sharp exteriors, and a spacious three-row interior. It will come loaded with features such as ventilated seats, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), connectivity options, and digital displays.
Both the Kia Carnival and the Kia EV9 will be available for booking starting from October 3, 2024, with deliveries for the Carnival and the EV9 expected to begin around Diwali 2024.
